There’s a moment when you have choose whether to be silent or to stand up.  ~~ Malala

Speaking up against sexual abuse has its risks. This is a fact.

You risk your career, your relationships, your reputation, physical harm, your past being revealed, and other risks including retaliation. This is a fact.

While there are risks with speaking up against abuse, there are also risks with keeping silent. This is fact.

You risk being abused again, you risk other people being abused, you risk turmoil in your heart, you risk going insane in your mind, you risk emotional breakdown, you risk not being yourself, you risk knowing the pain that you allowed others to suffer, you risk giving the abuser more power, you risk so so much. This is fact.

Speaking out and being silent both have their risks. Which risks are you willing to take?
