Do You Appreciate Days Like This?

days like this

There is so much to appreciate in every single second of our being alive. Sometimes we can get caught up in living in the past or worrying about the future. Imagine if you could enjoy each second of your life and when looking to the future you look forward to days fill with peace, success and great relationships.

I heard this song for the first time last week, when I watched As Good as It Gets which stars one of my favorite actors, Jack Nicholson. Ever since, I have been listening to it several times a day.

Days Like This is upbeat, inspiring and encourages us to look forward to amazing days that are free from worry, betrayal, complaining and where everything always falls into place.

Plus, being a huge fan of the saxophone, I thoroughly appreciated Leo Green’s performance in this song.

Enjoy and sing along with the lyrics below!

Days Like This by Van Morrison

When it’s not always raining there’ll be days like this
When there’s no one complaining there’ll be days like this
When everything falls into place like the flick of a switch
Well my mama told me there’ll be days like this

When you don’t need to worry there’ll be days like this
When no one’s in a hurry there’ll be days like this
When you don’t get betrayed by that old Judas kiss
Oh my mama told me there’ll be days like this

When you don’t need an answer there’ll be days like this
When you don’t meet a chancer there’ll be days like this
When all the parts of the puzzle start to look like they fit
Then I must remember there’ll be days like this

When everyone is up front and they’re not playing tricks
When you don’t have no freeloaders out to get their kicks
When it’s nobody’s business the way that you wanna live
I just have to remember there’ll be days like this

When no one steps on my dreams there’ll be days like this
When people understand what I mean there’ll be days like this
When you ring out the changes of how everything is
Well my mama told me there’ll be days like this

Oh my mama told me
There’ll be days like this
Oh my mama told me
There’ll be days like this
Oh my mama told me
There’ll be days like this
Oh my mama told me

Do you appreciate days like this so much that you look forward to them and plan for them or are you too busy dwelling on all that has not gone right or fearing what will happen?

Your Turn:
What types of days are you looking forward to? What are you doing to make sure those days are going to be reality?
Hugs!

    Love the post Joanne!

I think there is a great message in these lines of the song, which I hadn’t heard till now. They sure are lovely words and with a deep meaning in them to live life to the fullest and be in the present.

I have learnt to live in the moment and the present now, after so many years of tending to dwell in the past or think ahead of the future. And I feel it does give me that inner peace and contentment. It calms me down and makes me feel grateful for each passing moment that I live. It is indeed a beautiful feeling.

    Thanks for sharing :)
